This grandmotherin creek creek dress has shells made of the traditional turtle shell, although the Creek people of today most often us the can shells. Grandmothers are often accompanied by their grandchildren. Children in a traaditional community with many relatives around, are cared for by all, and quite often by their grandmothers.
